City water is currently used on the garden.
Shortly, a solar pump will be installed to pump rainwater from the storage barrels back to the roof to water the garden.
The City of Chicago recently awarded a number of grants for construction of roof top gardens. I was the recipient of one of these grants.
The grant will be used to install a more comprehensive garden that will cover all parts of the roof not taken up by solar panels
and vegetables.
